Beatrice Itubo, the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Rivers State, has accused Lamidi Apampa, the factional leader of the party, of instructing lawyers to withdraw the petition at the Election Petition Tribunal against the victory of Siminalayi Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Itubo also emphasized that a true member of the party would not attempt to withdraw their petition from the tribunal. She called for unity within the party and urged members to work together to achieve their goals.
According to her:
“We were informed by our lawyers that one Lamidi Apampa who claims to be the acting chairman of the Labour Party has instructed some lawyers to withdraw our case. Even if he has problems with the party, what is his business with withdrawing our case at the tribunal? Enough is enough.”
“We were robbed of our victory and someone who claims he is a member of our party wants to further destroy us. They should stop this rascality or we will get them arrested. We don’t intend on withdrawing our petition and we won’t withdraw it.”
