She has attended St. John’s Presby Primary School, Presbyterian Middle School and the Presbyterian Boys’ Senior High School. In 2015, she left Ghana to pursue her education in the United States.

Deborah Owusu-Bonsu is an accomplished businesswoman, TV Presenter, model and academic. She is currently the CEO of Sister Derby Group, a company which produces contemporary fashion and music. She has hosted the music show iFrosh on TV3, the African Independent Television station in Ghana. She is also the founder of the Sister Derby Foundation, a Ghana-based nonprofit organization. she has also written a book, The Sisters of Sinai, on her journey to the eponymous mountain.
Deborah Owusu-Bonsu was born in Kumasi, capital of the Ashanti Region in Ghana, to a military father and a businesswoman mother. Owusu-Bonsu was born with a twin sister, named Titi.[2] At age of 10, she won the first ever edition of the Ghanaian talent reality show, Stars of the Future. She was also at the same time modelling for numerous local and international brands. Owusu-Bonsu attended the Achimota Senior High School. She proceeded to the University of Ghana for her undergraduate studies,
She is a native of Accra, Ghana and was born on 25 August 1984. She attended Achimota School and obtained her GCE O and A levels at the school in 2003 and was a member of the Achimota School Senior Challenge 2000 team. She also attended the University of Ghana and graduated in 2008, gaining a Bachelor of Science in Applied Biology and a Masters in Biomedical Science both from the University of Ghana. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at the University of Ghana. Sister Derby has been featured in the media as a Ghanaian beauty pageant contestant, television presenter, musician, model, academic and philanthropist.
