MURIC Demands Update On Gun-Bearing Pastor

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has called on security agencies to update Nigerians on the action taken against a pastor, Uche Aigbe, who brandished an AK-47 rifle on the altar of his church in Abuja. According to the Executive Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola, the security agencies need to speak up on the matter to douse suspicion that the matter has been swept under the carpet. Professor Akintola stated that Aigbe bringing the rifle to his church in February caused a stir not only inside his church but across the nation. He said although the cleric was later arrested by the police and arraigned in court, Nigerians did not hear anything about the matter afterwards.
Kwankwaso’s Defection To APC May Cause Crisis – Chieftain

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Kano, Sabo Inuwa, has described the alleged move by the presidential candidate of New Nigeria People’s Party, Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, to join APC as a positive development but Inuwa said if the situation is not well managed “potential crises may engulf the APC”, particularly in Kano and other states up the country. Benue Assembly Passes Governors Life Pensions Bill

Benue State House of Assembly yesterday passed the Life Pension Bill to make provisions for the maintenance of the former governors of the state and their deputies.
While making a case for the passage, Chairman House Committee on Appointments, public service and pension matters, Geoffrey Agbatse, said necessary amendments were done to the bill. He urged his colleagues to support the bill’s passage.
With the passage of the bill into law, every former governor of Benue State is entitled to a monthly stipend equivalent to the basic salary of a serving governor and also applicable to former deputy governors.
Osinbajo Takes Shettima On Aso Rock Tour Ahead Of Inauguration

With just a few days left to the May 29 inauguration, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo took Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima on a tour of the Vice Presidential Wing at the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Osinbajo, on Thursday, shared photos from the familiarisation tour on his Twitter handle.
He wrote, “It was my pleasure to receive VP-Elect Sen. Kashim Shettima and take him on a tour of the Vice Presidential Wing of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa.”
