The top Nigerian lawyer and political analyst in a chat with Legit.ng on Sunday, May 14, urged APC to win the court cases filed by PDP flagbearer, Atiku Abubakar and LP flagbearer, Peter Obi before Tinubu takes over the mantle of leadership.
Tinubu will not make Jonathan, Buhari’s errors – Shettima

The incoming Tinubu administration will prevent the experiences of 2011 and 2015 when members of the House of Representatives revolted against the candidates of the ruling party, Vice President-elect Kashim Shettima said on Friday.
He said former President Goodluck Jonathan lost control of his administration the day Aminu Tambuwal emerged as the speaker. He added that the singular act contributed to the defeat of the then-ruling party, PDP, in 2015.
He also said outgoing President Muhammadu Buhari failed to achieve much in his first term because of the election of candidates not endorsed by the ruling party as leaders of the parliament.
Mr Shettima spoke during a meeting with Tajueen Abbas, Ben Kalu and other members of the ‘Joint Task,’ a coalition of elected lawmakers who have pledged to support the choice of the ruling party, APC.
PREMIUM TIMES reported that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) adopted Messrs Abbas and Kalu as speaker and deputy speaker respectively.
PDP declares seven-day fast for Atiku’s tribunal victory

The Peoples Democratic Party National Chapel has declared a one-week fasting and prayer for its presidential candidate at the just-concluded election, Atiku Abubakar, to come out victorious at the Presidential Election Tribunal which began days ago, Sunday PUNCH reports.
The prayers are to begin from Thursday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 24.
An ‘overcomer’s open-air thanksgiving service’ was also scheduled for May 25.
The events are to hold at the party’s national chapel, PDP National Secretariat, Wadata Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, and time is slated at 12 pm daily.
Sunday PUNCH had reported that the Presidential Election Petition Court had adjourned Atiku’s case to May 18 for the continuation of the pre-hearing of the petition by the PDP and Atiku against the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, of the All Progressives Congress.
In the petition marked CA/PEPC/05/2023, the PDP and Atiku are challenging the declaration of Tinubu as the president-elect by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Following his prolonged frosty relationship with the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, former Deputy National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Olabode George, weekend, said he bears no grudge against the former Lagos State governor.
Over the years, George has been a major critic of the President-elect and has threatened to go on exile if Tinubu becomes Nigeria’s president.
