Peter Obi had claimed that he was challenging the process that got Tinubu declared as President-elect. A former Member of the House of Representatives and Former Nigeria Ambassador to Ethiopia, Lawyer Nkoyo Toyo has alleged that the biggest question that will be raised in court is in Peter Obi’s petition.

She however stated that there is another side of the coin in Peter Obi’s petition that could pose a huge problem to the victory of Tinubu. She alleged that a question of if the procedure was strictly followed in the election would be asked at the Tribunal.

She said, ”There is a lot of doubt, there is a lot of lack of belief in the system of the election. And I believe that the work of the court is to reconnect the people to that democratic experience which seems to be lacking in many respects. These are issues of constitutional compliance that border on the eligibility of the candidate of the APC.

A lot of the petitions centers on the issue of eligibility but the biggest question that will be raised in court is in the Labour Party candidate, Peter Obi’s petition.

And it is the question of compliance, did the electoral commission follow the procedure? If you don’t follow the procedure, are you complying with the procedure? The outcome of the process and the process itself must both matter in what the court does.”
