The dismissal has elicited reactions from various quarters, including a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), who spoke to the media on behalf of the Supreme Court.

He explained that the Court found Kashim Shettima to be innocent of the charges leveled against him and thus not liable for disqualification.

According to the SAN, the Vice President Elect’s nomination was perfectly legal and in line with the provisions of the 2022 electoral law.  Continue Full Reading>>>

Therefore, he had not broken any rules. He further emphasized that frivolous cases would continue to be dismissed by the court, and that Kashim Shettima was good to go.

The dismissal of the suit has removed any potential obstacles that could have prevented Kashim Shettima from serving as Nigeria’s Vice President.

His supporters are therefore rejoicing at the news, while the PDP and their supporters must relinquish their hopes of having their favored candidate assume the Vice President Elect’s position.
