PDP group reacts, spills hard details about Ihedioha’s decision

In a statement released on Wednesday, Rufus Omeire, chairman of the group, alleged that Ihedioha withdrew from the Imo 2023 race because the process lacks credibility, The Cable reported.

Omeire said Samuel Anyanwu, the PDP national secretary, who is contesting in the race, has refused to resign his position.

PDP crisis deepens as ex-chairman Iyorchia Ayu takes legal action against party

In another development, the suspended national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Iyorchia Ayu, has taken legal action against his suspension by the party.

The Punch reports that Ayu is set to challenge his party’s decision to replace him as national chairman through the Benue State High Court, Makurdi.

Simon Imobo-Tswam, the special assistant on communication to Ayu, confirmed that his principal is not taking his suspension lightly.

2023: Okigwe stakeholders call on Ihedioha to contest for Imo guber

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that stakeholders from the six local governments in Okigwe on Sunday, November 27, 2022, called on Rt Hon Emeka Ihedioha to join the 2023 Imo governorship race.

The stakeholders made the demand when they visited the Mbutu Mbaise residence of the former governor.

They declared that apart from Late Sam Mbakwe, no other Imo governor has shown great interest in the development of the Okigwe Zone asides from Ihedioha.
