
The administration, employees, and students of the Federal University of Technology in Owerri, Imo State, have given Professor Nnenna Oti a hero’s greeting. It should be remembered that Professor Oti served as the Returning Officer for the Abia State Governorship poll for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Professor Oti claimed in the Channels Television report that she had never cheated anyone in her life and that all she had done was issue the riot act, stating that ballots must be counted under her rule and that the people’s will must be upheld.
She stated:
“I didn’t start today; I stand here before God, Jesus Christ. I have never defrauded anyone, all I did was to declare the riot act as follows: under me votes must count. Under me, the people’s mandate will be upheld, because I, Professor Nnenna Oti, can never do evil.”
The Returning Officer announced last week that Labour Party candidate Alex Otti had won the Abia Governorship poll. Okey Ahiwe, a candidate for the Peoples Democratic Party, finished in second place, trailing Alex Otti in the standings.
