According to reports by Premium News Nigeria, her murder was a heinous act that shook the nation and sent shockwaves across the world.

Kudirat Abiola was a prominent figure in Nigerian politics and a vocal advocate for democracy and human rights.

On June 4, 1996, as Kudirat Abiola was driving through Lagos, she was ambushed by a group of armed men.

Witnesses reported that the assailants sprayed her car with bullets, leaving her lifeless body riddled with gunshot wounds. The assassination took place in broad daylight.

The brutal nature of Kudirat Abiola’s murder shocked the nation and raised serious questions about the state of democracy and human rights in Nigeria.

The motive behind her assassination was believed to be a political one, aimed at silencing her and discouraging any opposition to the military regime.

Years later, in 2012, some individuals were put on trial for their alleged involvement in her assassination.

Member of the notorious group known as the “killer squad,” Barnabas Jabila, also known as Sergeant Rogers admitted to carrying out his actions under the instruction of Hamza Al-Mustapha.

Jabila revealed that Al-Mustapha had assigned the contract to kill Kudirat Abiola to Rabo Lawal, the leader of the mobile police force stationed at the presidential villa.
