Candidate can maintain the petition on their own if a party withdraws it from court – Osigwe

According to Afam Osigwe, if a political party and a candidate initiates a petition and at some point the political party decides to withdraw the petition from the court, the candidate can sustain the petition alone at the court without the political party.

 

Adam Osigwe made this statement in reaction to the rumor that Peter Obi could be affected if the Apampa led faction of the Labour Party has the plans to reportedly withdraw the Labour Party’s petition at the presidential election tribunal.Continue Reading>>>

 

Afam Osigwe said that the petition of the candidate will still remain valid before the tribunal even if the political party decides to withdraw from the petition, however, such a decision of the party has the ability to create an unnecessary worry over a matter that is not important.
